Top bankers quit Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley has seen three of its top investment bankers in Japan resign in the past month.
Masayoshi Nakamura, the head of mergers and acquisitions, and Kohei Yuki, the head of the investment banking division's financial institutions group, left the company earlier this week, said Simon Locke, a Morgan Stanley spokesman in Tokyo.
Haruo Kawamura, another managing director in the investment banking group, resigned last month, Mr Locke said.
The departures could deal a blow to the group's strong standing in the mergers and acquisition business in Japan, where it was among the best-ranked foreign banks in such deals in the country last year, according to Thomson Financial data.
The bankers had been replaced by established staff, Mr Locke said. Jason Milazzo, who is head of the banking group, will replace Mr Nakamura while Yasuki Matsui and Koichi Sakurada will serve as co-heads of the financial institutions group.
